A Messy Apartment

Glen, Bill, and Patrick are classmates sharing an apartment near their university. They usually get along well with one another. Sometimes, though, Bill and Glen forget to clean up their mess, so Patrick has to put things away for them.

One morning, when Patrick came out of his room, he saw that the apartment was a total mess. He got upset and asked his roommates what had happened. They said they had come home late after a basketball game, watched some TV, and then went straight to bed. Later, Patrick had a meeting with his roommates to discuss the problem. During the meeting, Glen and Bill blamed each other for the mess. Patrick suggested that they should all take turns cleaning the common areas each week. They also decided that if someone forgot to clean when it was his turn, he had to put NT$100 into a glass jar. After that, no one ever forgot to clean the common areas.
